Boat Chair

In 2024, we unveiled the nautical-themed Boat Chair, inspired by traditional wooden boat building on the coast of Maine. Within the 1st year and a half of launching, we took orders for over 40! For many years I have wanted to incorporate the strong and beautiful handcrafted technique of riveting into my work! In looking at traditional small craft boat building, where planks are connected by copper rivets to frames, I was inspired to utilize such a technique into this chair design, as the curved laminated frame and steam bent slat construction offered the perfect opportunity!  What a riveting idea!

The Boat Chair’s comfortable and ergonomic proportions were measured and transferred from the tried and true Stonington Continuous Arm Chair, and offers a more economical solution for our customers.

It is offered in cherry and walnut with ash slats and copper rivets. The finish is a durable conversion varnish the same as our Owl stools.
